Old TATA 1210 KSRTC Bus

The "Kempu Bus" ( Red Bus ), how it was called in good old days. This bus was built on TATA 1210 chassis and the livery was Red and Yellow.
These busses had the seating capacity of 48+2 . In some parts of north karnataka, traveling on top of the bus was a regular feature for the lack of transport facilities.
KSRTC introduced TATA 1510 chassis in early 1990's. After the division of KSRTC into BMTC, NWKRTC and NEKRTC, BMTC and KSRTC continued to use mostly Ashok Leyland chassis for building their busses but NWKRTC and NEKRTC predominently used TATA chassis for building their busses.
